University Startups is excited to formally announce the addition of William Kasper, a thirty-year EdTech veteran and startup sales advisor, to the team as Chief Revenue Officer. He is responsible for University Startups’ user and revenue growth strategy as well as sales team leadership.
As an executive leader at EdTech startups such as Discovery Education, as well as AIMS Multimedia and CompUSA Technology Training, William has overseen the growth of services that have been adopted by millions of teachers and have impacted tens of millions of learners. He also mentors startups through his work with incubator and accelerator programs such as Halcyon, SEED SPOT, WeWork Labs, and the U.S. Department of State's Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) and Young Leaders in the Americas (YLAI) programs. Since 2019, he has provided pro bono one-on-one mentoring and coaching sessions on startup and early growth customer development skills and processes for more than five hundred women, minority and first-generation immigrant entrepreneurs.
William’s experience with startup and early growth sales in EdTech and his long-term commitment to supporting underrepresented first-time entrepreneurs as a mentor and advisor makes him a perfect fit to keep University Startups moving forward on its mission to help learners develop the Entrepreneurial Mindset and create new college and career pathways for students and adult learners.
“Since the start of the pandemic, millions of high school students and young adults have had their post-secondary college and career plans disrupted,'' said Kasper. “It's hugely exciting to have the opportunity to serve them, their schools, and their communities by helping them understand their unique value, imagine rewarding futures, and put concrete plans into action to realize their potential.”
When not at work, William enjoys bicycling, playing music, spending time with his family, and enjoying the incredible diversity of the arts, international cultural festivals and food available in his Silver Spring community.
