University Startups announced a partnership with GOODProjects to provide individuals in the D.C. area with an online Employment Search Program. The impactful program provides individuals with a collection of resources and lessons that help them identify opportunities in their professional careers as well as prepare them for the application and interview process.
At GOODProjects, individuals have the opportunity to receive assistance and resources that can lift them out of poverty and transform the community they live in. University Startups will further prepare individuals to achieve this goal through increased confidence in finding a job, increased preparedness for job applications and interviews, and participating in a community all working towards the same goal.
“Thank you to the leadership at University Startups in supporting GOODProjects on its vision to support 500 families to achieve success. Without strong, committed partners like University Startups, none of our work would be possible,” said Darius Baxter, Chief Engagement Officer at GOODProjects.
The University Startups program designed and taught by accredited professors empowers the GOODProjects participants to actively advance their future and professional career. After taking this course, individuals are 2 times more confident about finding a job. 74% of individuals who took part in the University Startups program said they felt more hopeful about their future possibilities after completing the course.
"The Employment Search Course Le-Marie designed for our program is simply amazing. The topics relate with where parents are in their career journey. She comes with the knowledge and resources but she also makes herself available to each participant in the course. We're really thrilled to keep the partnership going for future cohorts,“ said Jasmine Campbell, ProgramLead at GOODProjects.
The program will create pathways to help participants find jobs in their career field of choice. It will allow local residents to find opportunities to further their professional careers and subsequently their lifestyles.
